Enjoy the Fairs, Festivals and Annual Events in Arlington

Does your family have a few little ones? Are you a jazz lover? Or do you just want to let your hair down after a long week at work? Whichever it is, Arlington has a fair, festival, or annual event that you’ll love!

The Arlington County Fair

The Arlington County Fair has become a family tradition for most Arlington locals. Around 84,000 people enjoy the fair every year. From spinning teacups to a classic Ferris wheel, your kids will love all of the rides provided by Cole Shows Amusement Company. If you’re looking for a more thrilling, stomach-dropping kind of ride, hop on one of the fair’s roller coasters!

But a fair is really only as good as its… well, fare! And Arlington has no shortage of great fair foods! Food vendors often sell corndogs, deep-fried Oreos, ice cream, popcorn, and cotton candy. So come hungry and leave your diet at home!

The Arlington County Fair is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. Their goal is to educate and entertain locals while showcasing the best of what Arlington has to offer: the best food, the best crafts, and even some great local performances. You can even volunteer to help out at fair or apply to be a food vendor there.

The challenges brought on by the pandemic didn’t stop the fair from happening in 2020! They found creative ways to bring the magic of the fair to you virtually. Arlington County Fair at Home included a scavenger hunt, a trivia game, a fried ice cream cooking demo, and even a family dance party!

The Arlington County Fair is the perfect addition to your family’s annual celebrations!

The Rosslyn Jazz Fest

Can’t get enough of that jazz? Then you won’t want to miss the Rosslyn Jazz Fest. This event takes place every year at Gateway Park. The park provides a peaceful setting to enjoy live jazz. You’ll be surrounded by fountains, paved trails, an amphitheater, and an ornamental garden as you take in some soulful songs.

Food trucks provide a variety of local foods and the festival serves wine and beer. Each year, the festival features popular jazz artists. Below are some of the songs performed at the 2019 Rosslyn Jazz Festival.

  • Peanuts – The Suffers
